The First Annual Debate – Call for Participation
Call for Participation
The First Annual Debate!
We are heralding a new tradition, in lieu of the customary opening lecture.
Do today's translators need to incorporate machine translation as part of the work process?
There will be a moderator plus two speakers in favor of the above proposal and two against it. We shall conduct a poll before and after the debate, in order to gauge changes in opinion following the discussion.
See examples of this in the following link:
https://www.youtube.com/user/iqsquared/videos
The
debate is open to everyone, not just ITA members. We're sure that many
of you have opinions on this matter, and, being language professionals,
can express them clearly. So we're inviting you to participate as
debaters (or moderator).
If you want to come and be one of the debaters, or a moderator, please
send email to chair@ita.org.il, specify whether you wish to speak for,
against, or moderate ("from the UN")
Any participant may speak in English or Hebrew, regardless of the languages the other participants choose.
