This presentation will go beyond the basics of balance sheets, income statements etc, and will address and try to explain some of the more arcane terms and concepts that a translator of financial material is expected to know, such as: inverse merger; lock-up period; carve-out; delisting; the alphabet soup of every profession, including ROI, FCF, FFO etc; and many more. The talk will concentrate mainly on explanations, grouped thematically, but will also present the Hebrew translation in many cases. The talk will be in English.

I was Deputy Chair of the ITA for 3 years, a member of its Audit Committee for four years, and the organizer of 5 ITA annual conferences. I translate from Hebrew and French into English, and apart from financial, commercial and legal material have translated several philosophy and history books. I manage groups of financial translators on large-scale, complex financial reporting projects for very large companies.
